Holiday Party Season Starts Early: Here’s What to Know

If your company is thinking about hosting a holiday party this December, now’s a good time to start planning. The first two weeks of December are especially popular for events, and many venues and vendors are already getting booked. (How do we know? Our team at Plato Media Co. is already planning parties for 2025!)

VCBO Architecture’s 2024 Holiday Party was such a great reminder of how these events bring teams together. VCBO wanted a celebration that felt warm, fun, and memorable—and we helped support that through lighting, sound, crew, and overall show flow.

One of the most-loved parts of the night? The photo booth.

Photo Booths Make a Big Impact (Without a Big Price Tag)

We teamed up with Utah Jive, one of our favorite local partners, to bring in a green screen photo booth. Guests chose from different backgrounds, grabbed a few props, and left with a photo in hand. It was simple, easy, and got people smiling.

Photo booths are great for company events because:

  • They give people something fun to do between food, drinks, and dancing

  • They double as a keepsake (digital or printed)

  • You can include a logo or custom background to match your brand

  • They work well even in small spaces or tight timelines

The green screen booth is especially fun—it lets you “travel” to different places or add themed images without needing a full set or backdrop.

A Quick Word About Timing

This time of year always sneaks up faster than we think. If you’re looking at early December for your company’s party, it’s smart to start checking dates now. It doesn’t have to be stressful—just thoughtful. That way, you get first pick of the venues, vendors, and timelines that work best for your team.

If you’re curious about how to build a simple but memorable event, we’re always happy to share ideas. From production support to trusted vendor recs, we’ve seen a lot of what works (and what doesn’t).

Holiday party season is coming—and with a little planning, it can be something your whole team looks forward to.
